Meet the featured chefs at the 2025 National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival

Join us for a weekend of global flavours, culinary artistry, and inspiring stories at the National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival 2025. This year’s event promises an unforgettable experience with a stellar lineup of chefs and immersive food experiences.  

Yotam Ottolenghi – chef, restaurateur and cookbook author 
Making his festival debut, Ottolenghi brings his signature Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours to the Main Stage. Known for transforming humble ingredients like cauliflower into versatile dishes, he celebrates London’s diverse food scene he remarks: 

“London is one of the most exciting places to eat… that constant exchange of traditions is what makes London’s food culture so special.”

Asma Khan – chef, author and founder of Darjeeling Express 
Returning to the festival, Khan will showcase recipes from her newest cookbook, Monsoon. Known for her all-female kitchen team and commitment to empowering women through food, Khan blends storytelling and spice with a powerful message of resilience and community. For Khan, food is an act of love: 

“Food was always about love in my home… a meal wasn’t just nourishment but an act of care.”

Karan Gokani – founder and creative director, HoppersÌý
The founder and creative force behind Hoppers, Karan Gokani, will share his unique journey from a career in law to culinary entrepreneurship. His dishes, deeply inspired by his travels across India and Sri Lanka, reflect a rich tapestry of regional flavours. Gokani masterfully blends South Asian influences with London’s vibrant food scene, creating menus that are both authentic and contemporary. Speaking about the key elements that define his cooking, he explains:Ìý
